Secret Holiday Sale for Insight Readers!
November 2005

Hello Beautiful!

Chelsea here, with another issue of Chellá Insight, designed to help you discover and enhance your beauty inside and out. First, thanks to all of you who have stopped by to visit us at our new spot in the Beverly Hills' Saks Fifth Avenue. When you’re out doing your holiday shopping, stop in to buy your favorite Chellá products in person – either for a friend or to pamper yourself!

Good news - It’s back! Our Holiday sale was so popular last year, that we’re bringing it back this year as a secret sale for Insight subscribers. This special gift set includes all five Chellá products and is the perfect holiday present for anyone who cares about the way their skin looks and feels. Separately, these products cost $395 at our Sak’s Fifth Avenue location, but during the Holiday season, Insight readers pay only $325 and get free shipping. What could be better than that?

If there are products you'd like to see Chellá develop, or if you have suggestions on ways we can improve, tell me.

Thanks for reading!
Chelsea.

FAQ: How Can I Keep My Skin Moist?

Q: I moisturize my face every morning and evening, but my skin always looks and feels dry only a short time later. Is there any way to keep that from happening?

A: Moisturizing is a good first step, but a woman's skin needs further care to keep it firm and beautiful, especially as we age. That's because the skin is an elastic tissue, and its elasticity depends on a number of elements, particularly the proteins collagen and elastin. As those proteins are depleted, the elasticity is reduced, our skin appears dry, and fine lines become more pronounced. Moisturizer alone can't restore those proteins and improve elasticity.

Plus, dead skin cells can reduce the appearance of the glowing skin underneath -- when you moisturize without first removing those cells, you're actually moisturizing skin that has already died. But by using an entire skin care regime, you can give your skin the elements it needs to restore that youthful elasticity:

Chellá's Micro-Exfoliating Cleanser removes impurities and sloughs off dead skin. Chellá's Morning Crema moisturizes deeply, with peptides and botanicals that nourish the skin. Chellá's Intensive Formula Eye Crema injects natural molecules that thicken the delicate and thin skin below the eyes, reducing the appearance of bags and increasing firmness. Chellá's Skin Firming Serum tightens the skin with elastin-based peptides, restoring elastic properties, and Chellá's Evening Crema adds peptides that stimulate the synthesis of collagen, which helps firm skin. Chellá's complete line of skincare products.

Start using the regimen today - by taking advantage of our Holiday Gift Set, and your skin will look beautiful and feel moist over the holidays!

Beautiful People Do Beautiful Things

At Chellá, we believe that when we work together, we can achieve beautiful things. And that belief is never stronger than during the holiday season. That's why we've made it a point to work with organizations like the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Chellá has set up ways for these organizations to raise money by selling Chellá products. Here's how it works: We give 20% of every sale made through these two organizations back to the organizations. Simple, right?

If you'd like a portion of your Chellá purchase to go to one of these organizations, visit Donate 20% to Diabetes, or Donate 20% to Leukemia & Lymphoma.

Do you do something beautiful for your community? Tell us about it!

Don't Worry, it's Not Just You

Have you ever noticed that tickling, nearly irresistible urge, to talk about your best friend with another friend? Most of us have, and most of us have given in to it: "What did you think of Evelyn's new haircut?" we may say. Or, "I thought Becky's new beau was a bit of a bore."

Does this mean you're a bad friend? A back-biter? Not necessarily. Gossip is normal and, to a certain extent, even healthy. In fact, as far back as civilization goes, gossip has been an accepted means of sharing information.

But gossip, particularly among friends, grows harmful when it's done maliciously: are you making fun of Evelyn's new haircut, or simply seeking and sharing information? Are you concerned about Becky's boyfriend and therefore her welfare, or are you (subconsciously, maybe) trying to make yourself feel better by putting her down?

Try to share stories of each other for fun and for information, and relax. Good gossip is good for you.

Chelsea's In & Out

Fall is fashion time and this year I’ve seen a lot of new trends I want to try – as well as quit a few I’m certain I don’t. As always, take the ideas you like and leave the rest.

In:

1. Magenta Lipstick
We’ve been seeing and reading about magenta being the new red. Give it a try over the holidays. It adds a touch of elegance to any look - whether you’re wearing jeans or a velvet skirt.

2. Flats
Tiny, sweet-looking ballerina flats and other flat-heeled shoes are in style and look great.
Pick up a pair and do your feet a favor.

3. Catering
More and more, when people entertain, they want to spend less time in the kitchen and more time with guests. Big organic grocery stores do a great job of preparing holiday meals. If you’re not sure you want to let someone else cook your Thanksgiving turkey, try ordering some of the side dishes. None of your guests will know – unless you tell them.

Out:

1. Newspapers
The people I know don’t, or can’t, take the time to read the daily paper. It seems like everyone is getting their news online these days, where they can be selective and search for news under particular headings, which saves time compared with slogging through ad-heavy print newspapers.

2. Mega Gyms
I used to go to a big gym in town, but I’ve recently switched to a smaller one just for women.
The circuit training I do there is set up for women and takes less time out of my day because I can get in and out quickly.

3. Glitzy Accessories
When I was young, the holidays were the time that my mother would pull out her best and brightest jewelry and multi- colored outfits. Thankfully, that look is out. Instead, look for toned down hair, clothes and accessories. Your new mantra? Keep it simple.

Focus on: Chell-x Complex

The cosmetic experts responsible for Chellá have a simple philosophy: to repair and restore the skin by naturally nourishing and stimulating skin cells.

It sounds simple, but many manufacturers of skin care products don’t focus on natural ingredients because chemicals are easier and less time consuming to produce.

Chell-x Complex is what separates Chellá from other manufacturers of skin care products. A combination of the finest peptides, all natural botanicals, vitamins and antioxidants, Chell-x Complex is an amazing anti-aging, anti-wrinkle formulation...more.
