Look no further than our Skin Firming Serum. Here's my favorite way to use it: apply a drop to a finger tip in the morning after you bathe. Massage the serum into the skin below your eyes. Let it dry for a moment or two, enjoying the way it firms your skin, and then apply your usual facial cream like Chellá's Morning Crema.

When the cream has soaked in, release three or four drops of the Skin Firming Serum into the palm of your hand. Rub your hands together and then massage the serum over your entire face.

This works in two ways: first, it firms your skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines. Plus, it seals in moisture and offers a protective base upon which you then apply your makeup, so the makeup goes directly on the serum rather than on your skin.

I saw plenty of new trends this month (must be the added awareness for the world that I always feel when fall truly arrives). As always, take the ideas you like and leave the rest.

In:

1. Natural nails
I find it fun that blunt, short nails with chocolate brown polish are the new thing. Who needs long nails that get in the way of dialing the phone, anyway? Other popular colors are (as always) nudes and naturals, plus "Ballet Slipper Pink" to go with French manicures.

2. Boots with everything
You can't avoid boots these days. They're being worn with short skirts and long, with tailored trousers and low-slung jeans. Pull out your old cowboy clunkers or your spike heels and enjoy combining your outfits. You can hardly go wrong with this trend. They're everywhere and worn every which-way.

3. Cooking groups
Here's a truly delicious trend. I've been hearing a lot about cooking circles -- groups of people who enjoy cooking together. They gather monthly or bi-monthly to tempt each other's taste buds. Generally, these take place as dinner-time affairs at rotating houses, but I've even heard of one group that has the use of a restaurant every so often. These groups are a chance to enjoy the company of friends and learn new skills from other food-lovers.

Out:

1. Super-sized homes
While big, brand-new homes are still (and always will be) popular choices for some, many are choosing to buy up mid-century houses and renovate them.

Remember those late sixties/early seventies ranch houses? Young couples in their pre-child years, especially, are turning those low-ceilinged horrors into retro delights, filled with sleek kitches, comfy furniture and exciting architectural details.

2. Buying "sets"
Sets are out, separates in. Whether you're buying an entire outfit (slacks, blouse, jacket) or furniture for your living room, the trend today is to purchase different, complementary items that somehow just work.

3. SUVs
It's been a creeping trend for awhile, but with gas prices shooting sky high, SUV sales have slumped. Hybrids, on the other hand, are hot.
