May 2006 Newsletter

Hello Beautiful!

Chelsea here with another issue of Chellá Insight. As always, my goal is to help you discover and enhance your beauty inside and out.

We hope all of our readers with children had a great Mother’s Day. We know we did. On May 11 we visited the Union Rescue Mission and helped homeless and underprivileged children create cards and buy and wrap Mother’s Day gifts. While the children were shopping, the mothers enjoyed a relaxing afternoon at the movies, complete with popcorn, candy and soft drinks.

We provided two licensed estheticians for the event and gave 30 minute facial treatments using Chellá products for all the women who participated.  Each Mother received over $120 worth of Chellá products. If you’d like to help the Union Rescue Mission, we’ve set up this special link where people can buy Chellá products and a portion of the sale will be donated to the Mission.

This month, we’re offering a special on my favorite Chellá product, our Micro-Exfoliating Cleanser. The price is definitely right – so stock up now. If there are products you'd like to see Chellá develop, or if you have suggestions on ways we can improve, tell me.

Thanks for reading!

Beautiful People Do Beautiful Things

At Chellá, we believe that when we work together, we can achieve beautiful things. In addition to our new work with the Union Rescue Mission of Los Angeles, we've made it a point to work with organizations like the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Chellá has set up ways for these organizations to raise money by selling Chellá products. Here's how it works: We give 20% of every sale made through these three organizations back to the organizations. Simple, right?

If you'd like a portion of your Chellá purchase to go to one of these organizations, follow the respective links ...

Do you do something beautiful for your community? Tell us about it!

FAQ: How can I get back the glow my skin had when I was younger?

Try Chellá’s Micro-Exfoliating Cleanser. You use it before bedtime and in your morning shower to gently wash away make-up and dirt, and to exfoliate dead skin. It's smooth and soft-feeling, with a wonderfully refreshing sloughing agent that helps stimulate the growth of radiant, healthy new skin.

The Micro-Exfoliating Cleanser:

  • Exfoliates and washes away dead skin cells
  • Reduces acne and other imperfections without irritating
  • Reduces signs of aging
  • Leaves skin feeling softer and looking smoother

Our cleanser is formulated for all skin types, including dry, normal, and oily, and it's mild enough to use twice a day. And it's all natural, with ingredients such as willow bark extract, jojoba, apple fruit extract, lemon extract, and meadow-sweet flower extract. (Yes, it smells great.)

Using the Micro-Exfoliating Cleanser is my favorite part of my morning skin-care regime. It feels that good.

For a limited time only, we invite you to try our Micro-Exfoliating Cleanser for the unbelievable price of $27.  That's $7 off the price paid by people that don't read Chellá Insight!

Don’t Worry, It’s Not Just You

Your best friend gave an outstanding speech to the board of directors and now everybody stands in line for her ideas. Your husband gets to travel to New Zealand on business, and your sister lost ten pounds. You're thrilled for them, but you can't help noticing a pang that feels suspiciously like envy. Then, you feel guilty for feeling envious and try extra hard to be enthusiastic. It's an exhausting circle, but it happens to all of us.

If you're concerned about it, though, or find that you feel this way on a regular basis, maybe it's a wake-up call. Step back and try to view your life objectively. Perhaps you're feeling discontented or unfulfilled. There may be areas in your life begging to be improved, whether that means taking up rock climbing or embarking on a new career.

Still, I think it's normal to feel an occasional sting of envy. So relax. It's not just you.

Focus on: Chell-x Complex

The cosmetic experts responsible for Chellá have a simple philosophy: to repair and restore the skin by naturally nourishing and stimulating skin cells.

It sounds simple, but many manufacturers of skin care products don’t focus on natural ingredients because chemicals are easier and less time consuming to produce.

Chell-x Complex is what separates Chellá from other manufacturers of skin care products. A combination of the finest peptides, all natural botanicals, vitamins and antioxidants, Chell-x Complex is an amazing anti-aging, anti-wrinkle formulation...more.

New to Chellá?

Give us 17 days and we'll give you smoother, younger looking skin. Try Chell-x Complex for 17 days and say goodbye to wrinkles, fine lines, puffy eyes and other imperfections. Best of all, it's completely free ... click here.

Last Month's Winner!
Chellá Insight Subscriber Mary Ranieri was April's lucky winner of a Chellá Premier Skin Care Package.

Last month, we asked about facial masks. You might be interested to know that most of you use a cell renewal mask. That’s what I use most often too. Thanks for the info!

Summer is on its way and I’m already thinking about how dry my skin gets. I’m wondering if you have the same problem too. One product we’re researching is a simple yet effective moisturizer.

How interested would you be in purchasing a daily moisturizer made from natural botanicals that you could use on your face, neck and body?

Take this month's survey and tell us!

Chelsea's In & Out:

Once again, it's time for my favorite part of the newsletter, where I get to play pop-culture diva and point out all the trends I'm noticing. Read on for what I've come across in the last month.

In:

Sunscreen
Yes, sunscreen has been important since we all learned to stop baking ourselves into old shoe leather every summer. But now, sunscreen is serving double-duty. Women in my circles are smoothing it on each morning before their make-up, to give themselves a hint of a "glow" as well as protection from the sun all day long. They also use bronzing powder to brush on a "tan." Add some wrinkled-look linen and a wide-brimmed straw hat, and a wonderfully breezy "just back from a day at the beach" look is complete.

"Leftover" furnishings
The "shabby chic" style seems to be taking hold again. I'm noticing bedding made from antique tablecloths, old sewing machine tables remade as night stands and deliciously stiff linens appearing as lampshades. Overlooked treasures found in flea markets -- from a delightfully dented watering can for atop a mantelpiece to an iron bedstead painted white for a charming little girl's bedroom -- give a home personality and allure.

Speaking of beds…
Have you noticed that beds no longer seem to be just for sleeping and, well, playing? I've increasingly noticed a trend of people spending more time in bed on their computers, drinking coffee, watching television, on the phone… Bedrooms, and especially beds, have become havens of serenity in a fast-paced world.

Out:

Stiletto heels
I personally loved the look of those super-high stiletto heels on women with fabulous legs (my own included, of course) but I'm thrilled, nonetheless, that they seem to be on the wane. Sexy as they look, they're killers. I much prefer the wedgies everyone's wearing now: you know, the straw sandals on big wedge heels, with ribbons that wrap up the calf.

Spending sprees
Even members of Generation Y and younger seem to be realizing that IRAs and other forms of savings mean security and serenity rather than stuffiness. No longer is it cool to spend nearly every penny on gadgets galore. I'm seeing restraint with money -- at least a little bit -- and I'm liking it.

Caffeine
A couple of months ago I told you that caffeine was out -- at least for me, because I had quit the stuff for good. I had been irritable and exhausted all the time and the doctor had suggested caffeine was the culprit -- but at last writing, I hadn't felt any better. Well, let me tell you, caffeine is definitely still "out." If you're hooked on the stuff as I was, and find yourself cranky and tired without knowing why, give it up. I have energy to spare, wake up cheerful in the morning and never suffer the mid-afternoon collapse as I used to do.
